Cautionary Note About 1.75

Unless you are an avid reader of every word of every patch note there may be some things that could slip by you regarding 1.75 that would be worth noting.

With 1.75 all the SI portals are moved to near the capital cities and all new toons start in Mag Mell, Cotswold or Mularn. Therefore the mobs in the "old" start zones are going to have their levels increased, quite substantially. Not all quests that use these zones seem to have been completely re-vamped to account for this so be careful when accepting low level quests on new toons - they may not be doable until several levels later.

An example: my level 21 heretic on Gaheris went to Avalon Marsh (mobs used be lvls 1 - 10) to find everything was purple. Sent to kill a previously level 11 quicksand it found them conning red and purple (quest instruction said run past some wolves that would have been grey to a 21 but it found them all purple, highly aggro and very hungry for an inconnu snack).

I understand that Shannon Estuary may also be populated with level 30ish mobs in 1.75.

Also, the Old Hermit and the Blademaster for the Cad Goddeau epic no longer live in Lough Gur. They're been rehoused south of Brynach.

Just some things to look out for if you don't go to the very end of the patch notes.

Sharing my experience Image

I try to read most of the patch notes but even these passed me by.

I went searching in LG for the OH and blademaster and they weren't there on any of the servers in the cluster, so I sent an /appeal to a CSR and was not a little embarassed when they pointed out the house move. Luckily they were feeling kind and moved me direct to the new spot (on-line CSRs are amazing people with what they can do there and then on the spot).

I just don't want anyone else to feel my embarassment.

You can still practice on them... dying... releasing... forgetting to bind... praying... rezzing. All of those can still be experienced :)

You can still port to the old portal in classic, all you have to do is buy the ticket from the guy next to the portal in SI to that place insted of walking through it

probably because of the new trainer quests at mag mell to help new people get started.

btw be careful on that wyvern, it dropped me on way to DL and tried to impale me on one of the towers.
