It seems that since the last path this step is no longer a solo step. This is the step where you have to collect 20 glands and then get the 4 items from the pillars to fry the salamandar. When anyone in the group frys the salamandar, everyone now gets credit. This potentially means you can complete the step in a bg 8* as fast.

There has been a change in ML6.5-presteps it seems:

The Cold Frozen Glands steps was always 'only credit solo'. In other words: If you wanted credit on your Char you needed to hand in 20 glands and pick up the 4 items; select the vivid-salamander and one-shot him with the hammer you got from picking up the 4 items.

This is no longer the case.

Everyone in the group gets credit when the groupleader picks up the 4 items AND uses the hammer on the vivid-salamander.

Okay; so we're cutting down the time for this step by a factor 8 across the realm potentially.


But wait! There's more! It seems the items repop REALLY fast once you pick em up. Theoretically you could have 2-3 groups farming glands; once there are 20 glands give em all to the groupleader of Group1. The Groupleaders of 2 and 3 group run the same way as Group1-groupleader; but start a different corner. Voilla! You now could potentially get 24 people (perhaps even 4 groups --> 32!) credit for the 20-frozen-gland-steps in 1 go.

The last bit is abit tricky to execute properly in a BG I reckon; but if you're in need of doing this step DO IT WITH A GROUP! It cuts down the time tremendously since you need only 20 glands for 8 people instead of 160 glands

Dont worry about the 'ash' you receive from this step; only 1 ash is needed for the BG-steps.

For those that need to find the rare ML6.1 snake, I just spotted a purple one in the lava (so it wont move) in Typhons Reach - across the South bridge, follow the lave north east and it is by the shore just past the yellow con statue.

There was also a red con one in same place but I killed that one

I still require ML6 for my druid so if anything sprouts from this count me in ^ ^

the snakes are like buses, went looking for them yesterday without luck.

Then found one near 6.5 and defeated it, then got jumped by another and a third got us doing the flames as well.

Merged with my thread ... though nobody replied to that .

On the plus side, since my post was before Puppet's, mine is at the top

i dont get the 'only one ash is needed for bg steps'

i thought you needed to give ash to all the lions - or is it head - ash etc?

The point is that as long as one person has the ash, the bg is ok. If you do 6.5 as a group, then only the GL gets the ash.
