This hurts everyone, they log out of frustration, and you wander around getting frustrated because there is now nothing to kill. This is why the active RvR guilds make a fairly big deal about trying to keep fights 'fair'.

I can't speak for the rest of the guilds, but for us a tower siege is a free-for-all but any fight already engaged with equal numbers midfield, we will do our best to run past and come back later. I do however think the manner in which groups have been 'asked' not to join in recently has kinda deteriorated.
Who won't come back? As far as I've been watching the last days the numbers of enemies grew when they got killed but let's leave that aside.

What is a "fair" fight? Is it fair, to let an enemy gg slaughter a random group of your realm? Yes you may be accused of adding by the enemy realm's group, so what? They are playing in the enemy realm and if they did want fair fights, they wouldn't be running around where "the easy prey" is. So why even bother with not adding?

I've seen no what so ever group that really plays fair. I don't complain about it, it's part of the game. But I still don't know how you define fair in this case. Is it fair to make a speed race between a jet plane and a bicycle or something like that?

As far as it concerns me, enemy realm and our realm... Fight them if you see them, if there is any chance you can win. I can accept that not everyone shares this point of view. What I can not accept is this "no adding" brabbling I get so often... even when we engaged them first (yes we did so and yes he doesn't think so and yes we won't discuss it over and over again because it won't lead anywhere).
If you, and I am speaking to all who are complaining about us "adders", can't accept us adding, you will have to move elsewhere. I surely won't add anything when I am not around. If you want to make a competiton out of it, do so. But I can only suggest that you don't do it where everyone else is doing all the zerg and add and what else you don't like.
It seems to me as if you're running against a wall, beating up your face when you could easily walk around it. Just to give you an impression of how this looks to me.

PS: And as I said, I did not mean to taunt anyone in the first place. That's why I left names out. And yes... where does the vicinity of a tower end, where you may add everything and where not? I am really curious, because i can't see a marker on neither the ground nor the map.

Errr... I'll rather go 8 vs 8 with strange no adding rules then.

Back to the manners topic for a moment. Something is going seriously wrong with this server and community because in the last couple of days my guild has lost two officers from the game because of crap that's been going on. On Monday we had an incident where we were forming a group to kill Peridas (a group of 5 people of whom 4 needed the encounter) when a lone vamp piled in at the other end of the island and pulled the mob first - he claimed he didn't see us but four peeps standing on the island is hard to miss. This incident was the final straw for one of our officers who has now left the game completely. I hear today that another officer is leaving because the game experience has been very negative over the past few days.

I don't know what the hell is going on here but if we don't start treating each other with more respect then the game is gonna die very quickly.

While out in the frontier last night traveling from Eras to Orins bridge i spoted a grp of Mids racing to a keep defence as one of there captured towers was being attacked so i called it out on /as and so proceded to follow them as fast as was possable in stelth when i came across a fight which i of course joind in , only to have a chr called Thadi a Blademaster run up to me and laught at me :? the fight continued till a 2nd grp of mids arrived and the hibs were wiped out including my self :dead:
I then pm 'd Thadi to ask him why he laughted at me and he then called me a leeacher ,there followed a open and on the whole polite exchange of views
till he went anon
I think this type of thing is wrong what honour was there in his behaviour NONE did he takepart in a FAIR FIGHT , NO There is no such thing ,Did the 2nd group of mids give a stuff about adds NO they just slaughtered us
If the rolls had been reversed and his group had stumbled across that fight would they have added or watched politly at a distanct till the end of the engagement I DONT THINK SO Double standards in my book
Some one will always have the edge be it in equiptment playing skill RR or buffs
Such is the nature of warefare the strongest nearly always wins
Did i do something wrong Yes , i was not skilled enought to make a difference in that particular fight maybe if i was rr10 i could have but i need rp's to get there as dose every one else , If the realm returned to a more co-operative approach to rvr more of us could get there and then things might be different but i dought it

So i come to the conclusion that These so called Fight Fair players are really Rp farmers that hate others getting some of there precious Rps they would think nothing of adding to others fights to get Rp's

So guys lighten up be friendly help others achive there goals and help the realm of Hibernia move forward

Ps as a comparison to RvR what about ML raids where everyone helps each other there is no such thing as my kill or fair fights we all have the same goal to get that task done and we do what it takes to achive it and improve ourselfs
think what it would be like if ppl like Kesxex ,Finolin ,Ramii and others did not organise such events most of us would be lame ducks in the frontier with just a few guilds able to field ppl able to win in the frontier

I think Tox's post has just clarified for me why I'm spending so much more time on Gaheris, the co-operative server, and why so many other people hate the very thought of a server without RvR. The RvR side seems to be becoming increasingly elitist. Maybe the ultimate revenge is for all people who have been wronged by such attitudes to create healer characters and laugh their arses off when a leetist dies and screams for a rezz. Can't think of much that would be more satisfying than to put up the proverbial two fingers and wander past the corpse of a leetist keeping the rezz well and truly tucked inside the spell book.

WHY are people forgetting/ignoring the fact that the basic premise of the game is that three realms are at war with each other and the purpose of the frontiers is to defend your realm from the enemy and conquer enemy territory. Why are people beginning to introduce their own rules that are aimed at maximising their return at the expense of realm mates, and in the end, at the expense of the realm itself?

I'm truly bewildered by the current state of affairs.

Annoying thing, but then he really takes things to seriously and shouldent play either, if something like that happened to me I would get annoyed Cursing the person, and then try it another day ;P

Always going to be people around doing this, still I havent had that much problem, seems like your saying everything is so awful, why havent I noticed anyhing playing for so long, well sure happens something now and again, but I know it will, can´t blame it on everyone.

Believe me m8 when I say it was the straw the broke the camel's back - there has been a steady decline in the enjoyment of the game for some people for some time and they are doing exactly as you suggest - leaving.

Is it purely a coincidence that the server population is steadily falling?

I think where some of us maybe going wrong is believing that because this game relies on co-operation and help from other human players then the best way to maximise enjoyment is by working together in a friendly, fun and respectful way. I know I haven't quite twigged onto the concept that to get the best out of the game one has to be selfish, rude and arrogant, and only out for one's own benefit: perhaps that's where I'm going wrong.

Well it will fade in a game that is as old as this one, wont blame that on rude people either, it isnt that bad sure people aint as at the start of the game, but you can´t really expect them to be either.

I think most people around seems fine, and I aint looking to find those that aint, and if somehing bad happens, ok sh*t, but still just a game and he wont ruin it for me.
