IRC is just a place for kiddies. They end up with idiots using mod powers just to annoy people while the whole tone makes the bottom of the barrel look like somewhere to get altitude sickness.

Go there if you like that kinda thing, or maybe just beg someone at a zoo to lock you in with the chimps.

What I find amusing is the great irony in this thread. People claiming that all people on IRC are idiots and whiners and that it is a place for children, yet you are the ones making totally biased posts where you generalize everyone and keep ignoring some of the better posts here. Makes me wonder who is the kids.

Everything I post is in my opinion. Who else's opinion would it be in? I didn't claim to be speaking for anyone else.

My opinion of IRC is based upon the times I've used IRC. There's nothing intrinsically bad about the technology, I suppose, although something about it brings out the worst in people. Like FH in realtime.

Yes my description is a generalisation, but then it would be unreasonable to expect me to specifically discuss the merits of every user on there. No doubt there are some very nice people using it in a mature way, but when you meet them you'll also me the kiddies whose main passtime is spouting inanities and repeating the most recent web/daoc buzzwords every few seconds.

Apologies to any mature users of the DAoC IRC channels. My comments are not directed at you.
