And again, by lwrp

http://www.gmonkman.eclipse.co.uk/popbylwrp.htm

Merged known 'tower claim' NFD guilds with NFD.

Aside from the rest, what is worrying is the number of active chars.

As a minimum, if very small guilds could consider some sort of merge with like minded guilds then that would be a step forward.

It would be interesting to see a similar comparative table for the Excal guilds as the way I see it there are three alliances really in Pryd/Hib, please dont take offence at the descriptions below, just my opinion from my time in game

Eclipse Alliance

Generally full of small guilds with a full on RvR approach, generally good players in rvr, guilds that still do or used to be primarily focussed on FG rvr and based around a single rvr group setup with possibly a few extra folks to fill in etc. Most of these groups would be happy to take a person from their alliance into a group to fill a spot in preference to looking elsewhere due to the quality of play they expect/want

NFD Alliance

Primarily based on two large guilds, NFD and SW. Primary focus is now on RvR I would guess, guilds which have grown and often recruited people from non rvr based guilds who want to get involved in rvr. Generally lots of people online, reasonable chance of getting FG rvr on any given night, enough members to be able to take away the pain of any required pve without requiring people to wait for large organised raids

Natures Eye Alliance

The home of the casual player (still). A few large guilds (MH, FS, GPK) and a lot of smaller guilds or guilds who have had there numbers decline. Relatively little alliance based rvr focus, no organised guild groups (except possibly GPK getting organised <cheers>), and if my counting is accurate, only about a dozen players with RR7+ characters, half of which are stealthers. Fun and generally friendly place to inhabit with some good raid leaders, some long term players, and people whos first concern isnt generally the holy rp.

I am sure the Excal alliances could be similarly generalised, and if so, then the alliance leaders/guild leaders from both sides can find contacts with similar aims for the game, similar expectations etc and we can build relationships from the ground up rather than inviting random excal person into an rvr group and then getting miffed with his poor ability or him/her getting miffed with the group disorganisation

A lot of alliances are full as no doubt there are constant discussions about filling alliances and consolidation etc, and besides lumping MH, SW NFD, Eclipse alliance guilds, FS together would be soooooo bad an idea I could hardly even contemplate the fallout from even trying

What seems to be happening on Pryd (and I guess the same on Excal) is that more and more people are running out of things to do. There is only the endgame left ie RvR. Eclipse alliance was always focussed on that endgame, NFD alliance probably reached the endgame point sometime over the last 12-24 months (a guess) and now even NE alliance guilds are getting to the stage where the only thing left to do is rvr. This is an acknowledged over-simplification and isnt the case for all members of all guilds ofc.

If people want to get the realm organised, the only way I see it working is if Pryd guilds/alliances make the effort to bond and interact with likeminded Excal guilds and alliances and not try and get the whole realm to love each other regardless of aims and expectations. Find some guilds with similar looking outlooks to yourselves and invite them to post on your alliance websites, guild websites or whatever. Time for proactivity and opening the arms in welcome, making new contacts and improving the lines of communication between the server populations is the way forward in my opinion. Relying on FH <sighs> or here as the primary communication channels does not seem to be working for the main bulk of the populace as I expect the percentage of people who post from hib on each website is approximately 20% of the overall players

Sorry Wyst - I am going to play devils advocate here and ask why ?

And I am not asking for a detailed breakdown of which guilds should or should not be included just your general thoughts on why it would never work.

You made an interesting point about end games and how RvR is the end game and we all reach it sooner or later. Quite which guild or alliance is where in terms of being at that end game or getting to that end game seems a moot point but if we are either there or close to it then we immediately have one thing in common.

I can think of pro's and cons but given the rest of your post which talks about bonding, interaction and communication some may think that could be made a lot easier by merging, changing or whatever.

FS have given a number of guilds the chance to view and post on our private section. Satyn was very proactive on that score some time ago. I think it helps but am far from convinced it is the whole answer.

Sorry to put you on the spot mate but i did think your basic theory was interesting.

Aran_Thule wrote:guilds are formed generally from people with similar outlooks, this tends to give that guild the same outlook so its more then just the odd person.
So the end result is that some guilds will be incompatable with others from outlook, others through conflict ect, its not possible to roll everyone together and say 'group hug '. (a shame but im being practical here)

differance of opinion then, i think that doing this would cause the death of a lot of the other 40 guilds and thier players, but lets leave it at that and move on. <grin>

p.s. Will get Luriaran to pop on as soon as i get home, its just annoying the way it does that.

Yeh i would guess too mate, cause no way we got 62 active members, could well be instead that we played 62 different toons last week.

Numbers aren't lieing folks, we need to rationalize Guilds and Alliances if we want to be more reactive and have better communication in RvR. Giving us a chance in the end.
Else we can just say, okay fuck it tbh, it's a game i don't mind getting farmed ^^

i can see that NFD is offering us a hand....and for myself i dont see a point why to refuse it, NE alliance has in the last weeks 15-25 people playing at nighttime (under the day we from 5-10 people), that would be 2-3 guild's from 12-24 nonth's ago.
We really should see the sighn's and not put our hands bevore our eye's.

Arkaon / Karak-Norn
and plenty of other chars between 10 and 30

Just a thought but could be a good solution that NE ppl move RvR toons to GPK (so we don't clash with as rules, Role Playing problems etc) and GPK moves to Nfd Alliance? So we got all eggs in 1 basket so to speak.
That should be an easy 1st step.
