The importance of being earnest... er honest
I'm amazed that some people actually defend his ways... And imo the 'points' he tries to score with the GM's are purely laughable.
What I fail to understand is how some of you people who love those asterixes, do-gooders as Mojo calls them, 'understands' why he expose a PRIVATE discussion to the public? Where did the morals fly off to?

?!
Odd that people think I am defending anyone. I am offering a different interpretation and it has some validity. I am not sure we didn't already know everything Ovi. I am not sure the tone nor the manner was right. Thats why I suggested there was a moral cost for doing this.
I don't see the community going up in flames over it either - in fact people have been fairly robust in its reception. There are only a few screaming at him to be frank.

The morals are being traded - try not to be so emotional. You have an immoral company behaving in an immoral way and someone sacrifices some morality to expose that. You can disagree of course but if you start to see it like this it becomes more understandable. It does not mean you have to agree with it.naic wrote:Where did the morals fly off to?
Maybe I would understand if he actually had something of value to expose, but all I see is childish provoking when the GM actually, imo, patiently points out the facts numerous times to him.Sharkith wrote:The morals are being traded - try not to be so emotional. I don't think this style of pressurising of GMs by Keriwin serves any useful purpose. It just gets in the way of conversations that could be a lot more useful. And posting it here is just plain stirring.
The E&E communication channels with GOA is one of the few ways anyone can have any kind of meaningful dialogue with them. As such, we should try to ONLY use it for meaningful things.
About the "all but halted" thing. I've not read all 7 pages here, so I don't know if someone has said this already, but I think what the GM meant was "Anything but halted." It's true, "all but halted" would typically be taken to mean "virtually stopped" but I think the context made it obvious that the opposite meaning was intended.

yes and I do agree his language and manner 'in' the posts blocks us from seeing the main reason why he brought them here. I said its unfortunate.naic wrote:Maybe I would understand if he actually had something of value to expose, but all I see is childish provoking when the GM actually, imo, patiently points out the facts numerous times to him.
What is important is that there are several points of clarification in there that we actually did not have before and they all point the finger away from the poor GM's directly at someone or something we don't know.
good points Cryn - however if your right - why didn't the GM just say anything but halted? He didn't said 'all but halted' - lets not put words into their mouths. All but halted means slowed to a trickle for reasons they have explained - and they have told us that a) they lost someone and b) they did the cluster and so that made things very busy. They had told us this what they had not said was that the whole thing had 'all but halted'. It is one of the admissions he got out of them and it makes the status of the restoration very clear. That we did not know.Cryn wrote: About the "all but halted" thing.
