in the absence of any real way to judge who 'needs' what, you are asking for trouble IMHO. There can be no 'real' way of assessing need and it is all so dependent on personal views that for me personally it represents another form of tyranny. The people who shout the most and complain the loudest get what they want and what is worse some of them start shouting things like piss off back to Excal which for me is way out of line.

The intent of need before greed might be honourable - but how the hell is anyone to judge? It can end up being another stick to beat the already tired raid leaders with.

Quite simply (in the past) the use of 'need' was for those people who wanted the item and wouldn't be selling it.

And, you might note, that most of the regular organised raids have always had the raid leader having a rule similar to "if I see or find out that someone sells and item they won on one of my raids they will be banned from all future raids I do".

Yeah, it's fine saying "if you don't like it, don't attend" or "if you don't like it lead your own raids". I don't and I did. If everyone was to run raids just so that they could claim loot to sell then there would be a severe lack of attendees on raids due to the fact they will be trying to run their own raids so they can make an easy 50plat.

You know that will never happen Vidx. Only a few people bother to lead a raid. The rest attends them if they like the rules. Esspecially for ML raids i think most people attend to get the ML and not the items.

Personally I couldnt care less if a raid leader claims something. He/she puts alot of effort in it and why not reward that alitte. I know i am rewarded since i get the ML

Think alot of people still use need for greed on pryd. The ones that dont...dont. Simple as that

Any of the "need before greed" people care to explain how the following are different:

1) Player A needs item X which s/he rolls for on a raid.

2) Player B needs item Y which can be bought for 50p, so rolls for item X which can be sold for 50p, allowing him/her to buy item Y.

Both players have a "need" which can be met either directly or indirectly by winning item X.
