neither do I Alex. It is nice to be able to sit and yarn. There is another side to all of this that is not competitive - in fact it might even be anti competitive. However another argument might be that not having voice comms biases against those who are a) dyslexic and b) those who simply do not work on a keyboard for a living.

Any of you who have visited the Marsh Horde team speak will know that it turns into a riot sometimes when we start pissing oursleves laughing at some of the stupid thinge we do in game.

;)

As BT said 'Its good to talk.'

I've found that Voice does make Rvr alot easier.
It also is handy for those who are PvE'ing/crafting .
They can then spam /gu /as /o /chat and chat away on the voice server as well.

However i have seen the bad side of this as well, a group of peeps used the voice server only , and hence drifted away from the guild ( there where other factors but i'm not getting in to them) they just didn't speak in /gu .

It needs to be balanced , /gu is still one of the most important parts of the game.

EDIT : btw it wasn't in MH this happend ( don't want to offend anyone either but it's a story with a point.)

Actually playing DAOC without voicecoms is pretty boring. tis fun to hear the whines etc and ofc it makes rvr more effective

Well, at least non-native english speakers won't instantly have peeps making assumptions about them based on class and regional accent like the natives will. :)

True, still is better then typing, and you don't really have to say much either if you don't want to, just some simple lines is enough really, so not that hard ;D

It's not like you have to talk constantely ^^

Actually we did have issues with too much of it - the /gu would get quiet because people were busy chatting on TS. Thankfully we have lots of new people who seem to get on well spamming /gu with all sorts of crap :p.
