It's just that honestly, IRC really adds little value to RvR, or did anyway back in my (god i sound old) time. It's more a way of whining at ur opponent after he kicks ur ass

I am just trying to understand your logic. If you follow what you say you come to the conclusion using forums is crossrealming too. Or is that where you draw the line..IRC not fine and rest ok?

Edit: And another question how do you feel that one of your guildies crossrealms by using irc? Not a flamebait but a serious question

I do have MSN running...but there is a difference, cos 1.) I dont talk about daoc on msn...atleast not rvr + its only hibs. 2.) that irc channel is mainly for all 3 realms (i guess) to talk.

Now that kind of chat is (or should rather) imo be perfectly legal. I mean, it's nice to know how the guy you just killed felt about it

IRC and MSN are real time, the forums are not.

IRC = Real time with unlimited numbers of people?

MSN is not practical for large numbers of people due to the invite procedures?

Although I agree that they are essentaly the same, I think we are well enough aware of the differences.

IRC is the better communication tool when dealing with a large number of people in a real time enviroment, thats why people use it, if Forums, MSN, Email or whatever could acheive the same then there would be no need for irc.
