jenifer wrote:does that mean that those with 'file corruption' have been using hacks or some sort of 'hax' program like duplicating... cos then surely they wil also get banned like the '100' or so list they proudly boasted about banning - ironically prior to the whole issue of no server!!

didnt someone mentione they lost items 2-3 weeks ago,if this was from the same bug they really have a big problemElrandhir wrote: Think I heard other getting dups also, or loosing items they had, so nope, has nothing to to with any hax or nothing.
Then why don't you ppl start to use a voicecom and try a diffrent game thats not as big as DAoC like "Soldat" or something and just have fun and still talk to eachother.Satyn wrote:bored aswell, tried the PvP server and went on excal but its not the same if you dont get non-stop pm's all the time
so in the mean time i'm just entertaining myself with photoshop!

If they give freetime to those who had active accounts at the time of the server being taken down, then they have to give freetime to players who have renewed subscriptions during the server downtime (well time to compensate for time they could have played on Prydwen at least). If they make a distinction, then it's wrong because what about players who have played DAoC for 2 years and have paid more subs to GOA than those who've only played a few weeks? Why should a player who has only been playing say 2 weeks on Prydwen before the downtime be esteemed more than a player who played solidly for say 2 years, took a break from the game and renewed his/her subscription during the server downtime? It just doesn't make sense.
Not that I'm arguing with you Ovi, but I'm just looking at it from another point of view.

The cause of the issues affecting Prydwen have now been identified. File corruption has been discovered in several hundred character inventories and we have been examining them one by one to purge the database, before beginning the tests and necessary checks preceding a server restart. This work explains the unusual period of server shutdown. There will naturally be compensation to Prydwen players for this unavailability and we are continuing to do everything that we can to get the server restarted as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience in the meantime.
