Thanks again Requiel for a comprehensive answer and apologies if I was harsh in my earlier post. TBH though, this sucks that a retailer can dictate release dates like this and I for one will now permanently boycott Game. Never will I pay them another penny.

And to another post, yes this does matter. It means the rest of Europe have a week's head start and will take all the good names on the server and will already be ahead in terms of levels etc. It also means that guilds like mine who have people both in the UK and Europe will find they can't do usual guild stuff because not everyone will be able to adventure together.

This sucks. Not another penny Game.

Requiel wrote:The reason for the sudden decision by the very large retailer would appear to be due to a major release this weekend and the publisher of this major release paying them a very large amount of money to clear their release schedules.

Thinking about it, isn't this a potential breach of UK competition laws?

Is not the publisher of the other release in effect distorting the market to give them a monopoly position?

Could you not threaten to report them to the Competition Commission or whatever it's called?

Looking at Requiel's last post I can't see how they can do anything other than stick to the 1st April release date.

Because we can be sued if we are offering it from a UK based retailer before the 1st April however there are no restrictions on a retailer based in another country selling to the UK. Welcome to the illogical world of corporate and contract law.

i just want as much of a for sure answer as possible, will play.com and other non-uk based compnaies be able to deliver befor ethe 1st?
from what i've read they can, but some people have said that theres no chance of getting it before the 1st,

PS oh and btw if anyone in europe feels like doing me a favour and getting me a copy i can put money directly into your account from my bank, or if you prefer send you a cheque etc :)

PPS anyone with knowledge on graphics cards: atm i have a- Geforce 4 MX 420 (i have no idea what that is) but its not exactly the best :) so if anyone can suggest a new graphics card with a reasonable price tag, id be much obliged
