Who do you miss from the "old days" ?

I miss:-

1) Tir na mBeo and Mag Mell bursting with hibbies
2) Crafters broadcast spam in TNN
3) When quest items were fun to get and useful
4) Getting a feel of real excitement when seeing the DAoC splash screen as it was loading.
5) All me mates who left the game and i prolly never see again

Yeah. I miss em but need to remember that game has brought very good ideas too. Personally I miss the most SI times. There was decent classes and all (expect mages 300(-500) in row) :-)
But still I come the same solution that every mmporg will die during expansions nor they will die if there is no expansions.
I'm gettin too old for this game as I'm played (almost) from beginning.
Well I can proudly say that I will not buy Catacombs teh mighty new expansion with all murtifukts and MuisterLevuler thingies

Even on ym old PC were it took abouit 5 mins to load daoc up just impaintionely whacting that screen of a kep ontop of a hill in the backgorund and a dragon in the backgroun(I think anyhow, been so long ).

I miss the first person i spoke to in the game who invited me into Marsh horde. Cealallaiach. Made me some level 10 Rf armour for free and everything which was great on my level 3 soon to be hero
And also other Hordies of the old times when i started playing (A few months after SI release but only had classic) Namely the other GM Dioennia, No idea what happend to him =/. But yeh i missed the old days and beeing a n00b. Was fun trying to take on things higher level then you just to see how much you get squished, Now its all about leet toa and Super sc'd gear. Was fun beeing a lowbie with no clue

And yes, I agree, Squick and click (Whatever his friend was called who also is near MM) Were great fun to play with when leveling up even if they constanly pwned me

i remember played a week or so after release when i got it. Lost my weap near howth and didnt know what to do, and was a firby in howth with full golden armour and i thought wow! and i started asking people for a weapon and i didnt know what to do, someone then gave me a training dirk . First person i grped with in game was Rami and yes he was as much a gimp back then as he is now
