some ppl just spend their time trying to insult random ppl. Most ppl will be able to ignore it and then you'll always have ppl that will get insulted by it. They are simply attention seeking ppl who prolly spend 24/7 locked in their house cos they get treated the same way as they treat others.
Anyway, what goes around comes around.

There is always the chance that you might say something that the other party thinks of as insulting but then its an easy thing to apologise and say that you didnt mean no offence by it. Instead of hiding behind the fact that you used a smily. Cos if everything thats been said followed by a smily has to be taken lightly then i can start randomly insulting ppl wherever i go and just guess they wont take it serious since i used a :) at the end. Thats a very lame excuse to use. And you cant also go from the idea that ppl know who you are and know how you are. There can always be ppl around that dont know you.

for example: we all know moley (sorry sweetie for using you), he's the biggest spammer around and doesnt really watch what he's saying. If he calls me a bitch and i call him a twat we both know that its for a laugh. But other ppl that dont know the situation or me and moley wont see it like that.

At the end it all comes down to respect. And to treat other ppl like we want to be treated ourselves.

Discalimer : anything directed to any such person intensionaly should not be taken as a personal attack upon themselves this is a move purely for E-peen as its very much in need of extending.

Well it's simple really, people's online attitudes aren't going to change while there's no real life come back for doing upsetting someone so it's naive to think discussing it will change that. The only solution is to learn to accept it as one of the negative sides of being on the internet. It's not like real life where you can just deck them for being an ass unfortunately. So again to put it simply, it's just something you have to deal with online and if you can't then perhaps you should either stay offline or at least avoid areas of the internet where you may become victim to it - i.e. forums. Sure as hell don't complain about it though as that's not going to suddenly change the whole worlds online persona's to match how you'd like them to be.

ohh nice responce :)
tho i'll agree to being one of xests sensitive peeps. :( so not built for online games :(

on topic anyway..
I think its similar to when people make 'jokes' about the person and the other person is accused of not having a sence of humor when they refuse to laugh.

Tbh to never had the rudeness said to me and known the person was being horrible behind it - you can normally tell smilie or no smilie.

However conversations between other people - ive been sure someone was flaming and later found out their best friends - best to stay out of those.

and i tend to use the :P smilie if im being childish (kinda like a nah nah smailie) and :p if im speaking tongue in cheak. saying that tho i just like the smilies so ignore them if i use em :)

I think people who no longer play these servers should not post on this forum :)
