why do all on EU use vent 2.1? so much easier to just use the newest version tbh

I *think* the free versions of the newer ventrilo has a limited amount of users. (the server that is)

on US everyone use 2.3 and eu all use 2.1

its got vent .1 .2 and .3 and team speak 2

Quite simple really, .1/.2 has no limit on how many clients you can connect per server, where as .3 needs a paid licence to connect more than xx clients (Price going up as the required connections does).

.3 enforces this with an online auth server. I imagine you can crack it or such, but why bother when you can legally run a .1/.2 server?
