For comparison, I've been playing Star Wars Galaxies for about 5 days now, and the European servers have been down for just over 2 days of that. GOA might have a bad track record with uptime, but at least they are not the worst.

The word "endemic" is sitting in my head. If someone can report Blizzard as also being rubbish, maybe we can complete some kinda weird, depressing set.

seems to me their networking system is not very redundant, or at least not enough for the tasks they have to carry.

Alof of server downtimes happened at blizzard, yup

However , they always gave out freedays for that - and not just for those who signed up via english page (lamest excuse so far, lol).
Btw, add to blizzard, few server is full on primetimes (a server can hold max. 10000 players), so there is a queue to enter into game - so when you go LD in molten core, and have to wait for 15 mins to enter again onto server , you _are_ annoyed.
