Quick IRC request

I always enter a channel on quakenet knowing full and well that this ispotentially a place of sadistic, egocentric and powermongering persons that treat their channel as a their own playtoy.

And just like with forums it's always easier to be bigmouthed when people hide behind their computer. This is actually why I never use irc, and it's not just quakenet but any irc.

Edit: actually, after reading that log I'm not sure why you kicked him. You say it's for your amusement...perhaps thats why ppl add too?

If i recall right #prydwen.rvr was made recently (after a suggestion from Rami) for groups who have the same idea of not adding on fights. NFD doesnt support that idea for their own reasons. Esspecially when reading the log i vaguely understand why Stupeh kicked him. Crom was indeed not reading what stup wrote.

It is more then possible for a group of 8 people to not add on a fight. But Crom just ignored that statement and said it aint. Well stupeh then kicked him shit happens. IRC is basically what spook said. But can be entertaining and some venting on IRC is good fun. Not to mention private channels (unlike this one) are great for creating groups.

Some people who posted in this thread have been whining on the topic of irc always. 3d party bla bla...lemme guess you dont have MSN running while playing (or a simular tool). IRC is the same kind. Every tool can be abused. Even 'net send' if you feel like it. But 99% of the time it is used as a chatting device.

Exceptions are created by rules. It is very easy to not add. All 1 person has to say is dont add and all will hear/read it. Or the bard just holds back. Ofcourse if they mezz you fair game.

And its not that NFD dont support it, its simply the fact that there is no such thing. We play to the games rules and not some leetest ideas on rules, which annoys the hell outta some who do their best to drag us through the mud

You play by your rules..player 2 plays by his rules..player 3 plays by his rules. Everyone plays by their own rules. Play how you like and sometimes you will have whines and sometimes you will write some whines. Comes with the game.

But this thread was about crom being kicked by stupeh from a channel where likeminded people are that perfer to not add. Not a big suprise to me tbh (altho i personally would have just kicked him once and not banned him but Stupeh's choice)

Some other people (mainly 1) in your guild have been advocating this a long time now. Care to enlighten me how IRC is bug abusing? To your comment that radar is a tool to locate groups is true. However radar is against the CoC and IRC is not. So that agrument is mute (actually GOA themselves uses IRC/MSN for communication. Gotta love #E&E). So why do you see IRC as bug abusing Jupi?

because to me its cross realming, its against CoC for me to log onto two realms on the same server at the same time and give info about what the other is doing etc etc to me IRC is exactly that, yes u can argue its policed, but at the end of the day information is passed about

and yes i am aware of E&E on IRC etc MSN etc, as i keep saying 1 mans meat is anothers poison
