splitting the chars between guilds isnt the move to make, its about getting the guilds and the alliance stronger.

Well I can understand on one hand, but then again, why struggle so hard to keep a name and an emblem? . . we have like 30 guilds with 10 ppl in, would it maybe make sense to have 10 guilds with 30 ppl in ?

Just a loose tought

We'd better make some up quick Gahn

So if I was in your alliance I could put a message up advertising each of the 50 odd scrolls for sale on my merchant and no one minds?

This might seem very odd but nobody actually does that in NFD. I remember how often it used to happen in NE as well it was one of those peculiar things I will never forget. :D

Trouble with common sense is it is not always that common and people have that annoying streak of individuality which means they are likely to have an different idea of where to draw the line.

I am sure if someone in NFD alliance did post a list of 50 scrolls for sale (with prices) up on /as (to use Gwenn's example) there would be some repercussions somewhere. The fact it does not happen does not mean peeps do not have scrolls for sale, it just means they know not to spam /as with that kind of information.

Having set rules (or not set rules as the case maybe) is one thing, having a free for all where there are absolutely no limits to any kind of spam or personal abuse is another.

As to the current position of the thread (and we have moved on very fast in a short space of time) I can see the idealogical benefits of having a super alliance. I am concerned that we may have forgotten that people play the game for fun and as individuals we may well get our fun in different areas. I guess it is even possible for people to move beyond the end game and also enjoy the social aspect as well as the RvR.

A bigger alliance or bigger guilds may help but most of all we need to find ensure communication with all and the mixing of all is completed as well as possible. Shark's PuG helps, he has a list of decent people who he could look for to fill spots in a grp (or even put a grp together) but he does this through contacts and knowledge, not because they are in the same alliance.

The issue is to reproduce this kid of knowledge on a large scale. We need also to engender some form of community feeling and spirit. A bigger alliance and bigger guilds are a way of doing that but clearly do not fit everyone's idea of a good time or what they want from the game.

Well most people have common sense and don't overdo these things, its when someone does that the alliance ends up writing some rules down to try and define common sense before everyone goes insane. Actually for me 50 different scrolls is not as bad as the same scroll advertised every five minutes, but this is all wandering off topic. I was just establishing that you expect some common sense in your alliance chat too.
