so....
if leader said 16:00 bst..thats 17:00 cet
if leader says 16:00 gtm thats 17:00 cet
Actualy you are wrong, BST is +1 gmt, CET is +1 gmt.
During summer we got CEST in central europe which is +2 GMT, and the brits got BST which is +1 GMT. GMT is a constant time line that never changes. Tho, as usual its only brits that twist about with this crap Easiest way it so just say UK time or EU time and ditch all the different timezones, in this matter EU time is always +1 from UK time.
... as is Greece, but Portugal is same as UK afaik
The problems arise when people say things like "raid starts at 7 GMT" when what they really meant was 19:00 BST which is 11 hours away from 7 GMT.

I really dont understand why you keep this discussion going its always +1h in central europe no matter if its summer or winter time...as some of you pointed out.. ditch this discussion already if they type GMT or BST always just add 1h...what else is there to discuss?
the point was it's always +1 you will never have a situation were it's +2 between britten and central europe..
if brits have savings time, we have savings time, whats you put in front of it does not matter...
you'll never have a case were someone will be late to a raid or event due the time posted in bst or gtm..as long as they +1 to thier own time
all this will only confuse people...cest,cet,bst,gmt it doesnt bloody matter.. if your in briiten and it's posted cet "no one will post cest" -1, if your in central europe and it's posted as bst/gmt +1
we go to savings time at the same time and we go to normal time the same time...
the rest is simple word bicerring and quite a waste of time..
so unless you have some odd time distortion and you have 2 people attending the same raid, one being in briiten in december and the other in central europe during July...then this discussion is pointless...
just remember +/- 1 and you'll never be late or miss a raid due to the initials infront of the anounced time..

Not much, this only leads to make people more confused ;P
It's easy to remember what to do with your clocks.....
Autumn is also called "Fall" (in the USA), so,
"Spring forward and Fall back". If you remember this you will know to put your clocks forward 1 hr in Spring and 1 hr back in Autumn. Easy.
As for getting everyone turning up on raids on time, maybe it would be good if all European servers used the same time? So, when you do /clock in-game it would be the same nomatter where in Europe you were. Then if someone said, "The raid starts at 7pm /clock time" there would be no confusion.
I think they do something like this in WoW, because the English servers are 1 hour ahead of UK time always, i.e. identical to central Europe.

I think that would be incredibly annoying. I look at the clock to know what time it is where I'm sitting much more often than I do to try to figure out when a raid will start.
