Yeah, I miss that feeling. I remember when my wife and I first started on Mid/Excal and had no idea how to level. We explored zones, crafted, quested, and had a magical time. After a month we were level 15 and we felt we'd hit a ceiling (that's when we cam Hib/Pryd) ;)

Yes, I miss the feeling I had back in the "old days". That feeling was closely tied together with the fact that the game was new to me then and I didn't have several lvl50 chars, seen every dungeon/zone etc. I can't see how that feeling can ever come back really. The various addons has helped a bit, but I think Mythic should make daoc 2 instead of upgrading the existing game. That way we could get that good feeling back, but without moving to another game (with no albs or mids to kill :(). With all the experience the developers have from making "daoc 1", I am sure the sequel would kick ass! :D

daoc II could be a good idear
the game needs fresh blood-->new player
nowerdays you can t start a level 1 char
and level it to 50 it s to boring imo you alone in mainland
and you will end in frustration as a new player
would say all who buy daoc II get 1-2 lev 40 char for free
with some gold for a nice start because there is still enough to do
after lev 40 to get a competitive char
after the new player has leveled a new char from lev 1 to 50 give lev 20 command as reward so new player can try the game
for the old player doac II is free like NF
think that could bring some new player in the game and not many old ones
will leave like it was after each expansion
imo something like that must come or the game will die sooner or later

Don't know about anyone else but I wouldn't have the patience to start a brand new DAoC after I've spent such a long time working on my account atm ;o

Being a few months behind the U.S. has advantages and disadvantages.

For example ToA, the guides were out, and people knew where things were and what to do.
How many talked to the Sphinxes for info, read the scrolls for clues ect.
We loose out on the mystery of the game which i think makes to less enjoyable.

But saying that there is still a lot to enjoy, and helping others and working together for the greater good is one of the thrils that doesnt fade.
We are the underdog but due to the community and working together we can overcome this and be victorious, isnt the feeling of triumphing against the odds still enjoyable for you?

I still find the game fun.

However for some time now its been more about the community and less about the game. Love playing my ranger even though we are hugely outnumbered a lot of the time in stealth wars i still find it fun.

Being able to kill any equal rr stealther is quite nice (unless i make a mistake or someone adds etc.)

Full group rvr is something i miss

I miss the days just after gold when i was level 4x and was grouped with the first L50s (teza, goku and the like) and i dropped like a fly where as they remained standing for what seemed like ages, took so many green con albs to kill them. Was tremendous fun, more fun than rvr these days anyway.
