Obviously i wanted an elf cuz i was totally in love with legolas (from the book which i had read to prepare for the film)
i decided i didnt want to go on excal cause that was albion and the sword of excalibur and so i went on prydwen.

first time i logged on with my ranger i died pretty quick (couldnt work out how to go into combat again. think i kept pressing f6 like i was styling or something)
so i logged.
When i came back 2hrs later (was nothing on tv that day iirc) i met a nice person called mortis (think he has left the game now) and another peep. He basically showed the the ropes of the game (such as killing stuff etc),. sayed on way past 2am that day

Necxt day i logged on i met Natan and Sonari and a couple of days later Anyndir (who wasnt anyndir then) who invited me to the marsh horde.

I remember being killed by death when i was level 7 cause i wanted to go rvring with firefox and the others (who were a mighty level 36) so me and natan went out druim ligen gates and were killed at the end of the valley.
I remember seeing sonari as a void eld so deleted Lieva and made Banana.
I remember seeing Usp in RvR and i believed i pmed him 'glad youre on our side' (and yes ive hero worshipped him blatently ever since

)
I also remember him quitting and rolling mid and me thiking 'oh crud'
I remember thinking a similar thing when Xest quit during zerg3
I remember croonah giving me a pair of gloves at howth as a gift

Mortis did also (but they were orange and not the ub3r purple ones croonah had given)
But the thing i think which stikes me as hilarious now.
Being excited because someone told me i could tradeskill to make my own arrows.
I think i dropped doing everything and rushed to TNN to find this amazing fletcher trainer.

Tbh i could spam this forum with great memories from daoc, but ill settle with just one great thing atm. First time Ashen Circle (formely known as Shadows Of Light) went into the frontier...we rain up to Ailline and waited for one of the guildmembers mates who played Midgard to arrive with his guild to fight us...they never turned up so we hanged around for abit and checked out the keep. Then we noticed the lake to the east and somebody yelled 'lets go for a swim nude' we all ran down and got killed by mobs (we were like level 10-13)

Haha talking about swimming in the nude.

I remember one of the stealth groups a long time ago i ran, was with Galadriiel, Caestar, Babealicious, think Tuthmes was there as well and some other people, not sure if Ankh was there then.

We ran all the way to emain tower and made a bet for like 5G or so, cause was nothing serious, but had to run around the tower naked. First one ran 5 rounds i think, 2nd did some more and so on, till we saw some infils closing in, put our armour on and wasted them

Was good fun tho.

Oh and Banana talking about heroes, for me that was HappyG the ranger. As a lvl6 ranger or so i met him and he helped me out loads. Was great knowing someone with a lvl50 char, and i even got a bow and so from him.

Then came the day he told me has was gonna quit DAoC, a sad day for me since i saw him as my ranger trainer

, he gave me his crafted MP bow when i was in Treibh lvl'ing up and we decided to organise a last event for him.

Oh and yeah, Legolas is kinda the reason why my ranger is an Alf as well

One thing I remember which was weird to the point of paranoia. When me and my wife played our free month, we went Mid excal. We made like 1 friend there (maybe 2 or 3, but one a bit stronger than the rest).

We gave up at the end of our free month, but a few months later we decided to try again. About an hour into our retry, we were up near Huginfel asking ourselves why we bothered coming back. Then this guy who had been our one friend (name of Aarween/Choin) ran past us in the middle of the wilderness. It was so weird for the one person we knew to run past. We stopped and chatted and he recommended Hib/Pryd if we wanted a slightly friendlier place. He was right
