(I hope the link is right I can't check from work and won't be home until Friday / Saturday)

I wonder how many other MMORPGs have gone this far to keep track of their economies...

the main reason why it is a more living economy than any other mmo is that it is based on consumption goods. You consume your resources. You don't buy a big sword and keep it only having to fix it every now and then. You quite literally have to sustain your life because when you lose something you replace it.

Thats why it is such an interesting game and it can be fun figuring out how to replace your losses. I am finding that problem the first problem we are having to solve in the Corp at the moment and we are only a small corp. (thanks for your BPc's mate we made our first 200k missiles at the start of the week).

Eve has the most intricate and unique playermarket ever i think

For the first few years, the mineral Zydrine was sole at 4x base rate due to all the players inflating the market prices. This was the norm for 2 years + and it still isn't at the base rate after 4 years of the game's life

If players don't product it, you can't buy it. if player decide to hike the price, then the price is hiked. period

give us a shout on Natasha Donnan - we have a small war going on at the moment. Nothing too serious though.
