Ankh, I been feeling EXACTLY like this about D&D for a few years. Played it Pen and Paper as a kid. Played the Gold Box stuff and loved it. Got into Baldur's gate in a small way, but ever since they moved away from second edition (and if I'm honest even a lot of the Baldur's Gate second edition stuff) I just haven't been able to get find it engaging.<ankh> wrote:Well, dungeons and Dragons was good 20 years ago..then it turned into shite. They tried to ressurect it using the D20 system - and it was quite good at first - but I grew bored on their silly creatures and worlds. (Only ever liked the pool of radiance world..not the remake game ofc, and dragonlance..)

I'm hoping they do for LoTR online what Blizzard did for WoW. Not necessarily the same thing, but at least focusing on accessibility, build-quality and breadth of game world. I'm not really a huge WoW fan, but if you want a MMORPG to reach the widest audience, those things are very important.
