Pdf -> Word

Anyone know of a descent converter?
Wont that take a silly amount of time? I mean since pdf are pictures rather than ascii

Not all .pdfs are pictures. The vast majority we deal with are text, yes we can copy & Paste the text out, but it isn't a very efficient way to convert a lot of files.<ankh> wrote:Wont that take a silly amount of time? I mean since pdf are pictures rather than ascii

I know they are text too - but almost all ive seen have been text converted to pictures...and i've got quite a few

if I recall cute do a PDF editor/converter.. there are a number of programs that do it ... its just a question of if you want a free one or want to pay for it.

As Taki said i use CutePdf http://www.cutepdf.com/, works okay and the writer it's free.

Don't think the PDFs are actually pictures Ankh, just that you can choose to lock some PDFs so that the text can't be selected, so whilst they appear as pictures, their internal format still allows individual content to be seperated like a normal document. If they're locked though you're not going to be converting them anyway so locked PDFs are rather irrelevant to the discussion

Normally i just select text in the pdf and copy paste in Word, admittedly if it's a complex doc u lose all the tabs, tables etc tho.
