Keeping things cool...

Anyone know of a good cooler for my Athlon XP? At the moment I'm using one of those Socket A Zalman flower coolers, it's ok, but the hot weather means that it's working overtime and getting a bit noisy.

Get a good fan with copper cooling. They rock...OR if you got loads of cash and wanna take a risk and get high qua cooling - get water cooling (there are some kick ass watercooling kits avaible).

Remove all moving parts such as fans, make sure your PC is airtight and then fill it with chip fat.

Thats for the noobs, the professionals use extra virgin olive oil.

I recently bought Thermaltake Sonic Tower for my P4 2800. This shit is so big, it's pain to get in the box, but once it's in it works damn good. Without the fan it got my CPU temp to about 60C, which is what my original Intel cooler was able to do with fan at maximum speed (although its true, I'd have to clean it a bit
).
Than I installed a small fan inbetween with fan mate keeping it at half speed (~1500 RPM = very silent) and it got my CPU down to 35C, when running at 100% load.
Oh and I payed a bit under €30 for it and €5 for the fan.

Xest, would you recommend Pork or Beef dripping for the "chip fat"?

Im using the fan that comes with the 4ghz dual-core amd cpu on my 3.8ghz. It works great! Im at aprox 30degrees constant.
Edit: It's silent too btw.

Glad to hear that rather than the PoS that came with my old 3.2ghz which a) Makes a hell of a noise and b) Really doesn't cool the machine down enough in the summer.
