Hmm, so okay, I can see that some people (litmoose, devlin) have avatars, however when I go to edit avatar under user cp, all I get is the "do not use an avatar" option, there's nothing else there .. is it a paid subscription only thing? (seems unlikely since litmoose and devlin don't have custom titles, but that could be just cos they're lazy..)
