Noob MP3 question

What do I need to record my music CDs onto my PC in MP3 format?
(apart from the music CDs & the PC obviously

I use Musicmatch, cos I always have and im used to it.

But pretty much any application that will play music will also import it.

Think windows media player can do that aswell, but stay away from the evul .wma!

Can anyone recommend a good portable MP3 player
I don't need all that much memory - I probably wouldn't want to put more than 10-12 CDs on it so 120-150 songs.
TBH half that would also be enough.
Some kind of minimal display would be nice.
I don't really want to spend more than ... hmmm let's say £80 for starters (in swiss francs ofc - UK special offers no use to me)

No, you can choose whether to licence what you copy or not. It does work with DRM, which means any music you buy it will play, and can sync to an MP3 player.

I prefer .wma, the quality is much better when you compare the same bit rates, and hence file sizes. So if you have an "MP3 player" that plays .wma's then you get more tracks for your memory.

Agree, Creative kit is really nice. iPod's are feature crippled in comparison to a lot of other players and for a higher price, you really are paying for the name and getting nothing back for it, better to get something from a company like Creative which has a much better feature set and for a lower price, not like they look any worse than iPods either imo.
