anyone know of any free image editors that have no silly 30day trials? I need one to convert from tif to jpg format to reduce file sizes. I need it quite urgently - for this afternoon if possible.

Well the ultimate free one which is able to convert and easy to get would be Paint...

It can open tif and save as jpg..if you dont need it for anything else why get soemthing else

Maybe it is to obvious tho :P

The Gimp - its open source, from the unix/linux community but has a windows binary as well. It's easily as good as PSP.

Paint.NET 2.5 was released just recently, and is looking quite good I might add.

Try it out, it's free.

The best freeware image editor for file conversions and such is Irfanview.

The problem with MS Paint is that you have no control over image optimization, such as JPEG compression, when saving in a different format. Which is why something like Irfanview is much better. Since it's free a small download, it's worth having.
