Router Problems!!!!

Been having serious router(?) problems the past few weeks. I think its all connected with some problem I had with my router.. where it wouldn't even connect to the internet properly.. and my mom (t3h IT specialist in the house.. since I don't even know where to plug in the computer let alone fix a router) phoned AOL (provider) and someone else, and somehow fixed the router.. so we could connect to the internet again.

From then our computers have been having some problems :(. At first I noticed that Guild Wars didn't work (But DAoC did! yay), that I couldn't get past the 'Downloading' Screen when trying to install it, or even get around to logging in my character, on the computer where it had already been installed before all of this. I consulted the Guild War forums, and they told me to visit portforwarding.com, and to follow the instructions there. With some help from Valky.. I managed to do all what was said.. but it still didn't work (same problems as before).

Now I have noticed that I cannot connect to certain websites. I wanted to reinstall MSN, but found I couldn't connect to msn.co.uk. I also couldn't connect to aol.com :(. I tried to download MSN from download.com, but when trying to download, it just showed in the bottom of IE, that it was loading, but it never did load :(. I think this is somewhat linked, but I don't know how. I expect its some problem with the router, but neither me or my mom knows how to fix it.

So its in your hands, prydwen.net! Do any of you have any advice how to fix this, so I can get on Guild Wars, or even MSN again? :)

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Oh, and the microsoft update website doesn't work at all :(

You proberbly have to unblock some programs or sites. Could be in the routers builtin (if any, but I bet it has) firewall.

Edit: Could be that your router have good taste and thats why it blocks guildwars ;)

If that was the case it would have blocked DAoC to save us from Ame ;)
