I once flashed BIOS to try and get suspend to work on an old computer. I thought it would be cool to just press on and the computer would "insta" boot. I flashed the BIOS a couple of times and got a little over confident. In the end I had to send away and pay 20 pounds ( was before the euro came in :) ) to get a new BIOS chip sent. Also, I had to remove the old chip and add the new one without breaking any of the pins.

In the end I got suspend to work, but after one card or something was changed, it broke again. I probably spent 1-2 months of tinkering for about 3-4 days where I suspended the computer before going to bed and had the "insta boot" the next day :)

Why people try to "fix" things which are working and good ? heh.
