From what I´ve seen I kinda like the "Acer Ferrari 4005WLMi".

Tho I have no idea what it cost, I dont remember..

anyway I never cared much if its 1500 euro or 2000 euro... as long as it lasts more then 1 year..

But I´d personally aim for :
1gb RAM (with expansion posibility)
ATI MOBILITY RADEON X700 or NVIDIA GeForce Go 6600 (or 6800).
a 7200 RMP HDD if posible, min of 80GB

then I´d be happy..

EDIT : Oh, the newer Mobile processors often have less MHZ but work wonders anyway with faster bus speeds and lower heat/power usage. And its not the processor that detirmine game performance as much as RAM memory and GFX card

Our tests confirm the claims we made in our preview article earlier this year - the Dell Inspiron XPS Gen 2's performance is the best we've seen so far in the notebook space. Its horsepower can take on many high-end desktops as well.

It creams the Acer Ferrari 4000, for example. Granted the Acer is a thin and light with some good gaming speed, but the winner is clearly the Dell XPS Gen 2.

yeah, well ;D the price is nice to >.< still I have never had any use for an Laptop that are always expensiver, and building my own comps, so even if they get rather expensive as I buy more or less the latest components, it still gets much cheaper then buying one that has been assembled by a company
