Hajime no Ippo

Recently finished watching this series of 76 eps and two movies. Currently reading the sick ammount of manga remaining (all in all about 10000 manga pages (yikes)).

Its a boxing anime, guess it can be compared to Hikaru no Go or Prince of tennis (havent watched much of tennis, but think I know how it goes). Can be slow at times, but it has tons of funny elements and good tention, interesting characters and nice boxing action at times. Compared to Hiraku no Go witch I loved, I think its nearly as good, but abit slower and repeating (many matches are all the same; hero gets beaten but makes a comeback yoho) but overall its a great anime.

Anyone seen it?

Yeah I saw the whole series just recently too, as you said it was a bit repetitive in how ippo always makes a comeback at the last minute in a match, although he does get a reputation as the comeback kid, so they're not unaware of it

Twas a really great series I thought, I'm not sure if I'd rate HnG higher or not (been too long since I've seen it tbh

) as HnI had lots more really funny moments imo, and the ending was god damn sweet

But HnG wasn't quite as repetitive in the matches and stuff.. Oh well, they're both great

And yup, Takamura does indeed rock

Started reading the manga thats not animated as I mentioned, but totally forgot about it. Think I will catch up on that later... when I get time

Been awfully little time for me to watch my weekly anime the last months. Guessing its about the same for you guys, too some degree atleast, since its so quiet around here.

And yea, I love the comedy in HnI too.

I've been keeping up pretty well, but haven't had much time for browsing forums really, been busy working on a masters (I'm meant to be doing that atm, oops

) and still playing wow (rolled yet another new char now.. warrior this time x< ).

Where did you get the manga btw? I think I need more liver blow -> feint -> gazelle punch -> dempsey roll in my diet

Nice 1, have started to watch the serie and have to say I like it, even though it's really unrealistic, I guess it wouldent be all to fun if it wasent the way it is ;D it reminded me some of the Rocky Movies ;P defeat the opponent by letting him hit u until he gets tired, or something like that ;P

But was fun to watch, realistic or not ;P

Hmm no idea.... searched google I guess.
As I mentioned, its a LOAD! I got 1,6 GB of Ippo manga and almost 10000 pages!
