well it just sucks atm

if you talk english you dont get groups cos 90% are german & the 10% english have distinguished themselves in such exemplary fashion by being abusive that it seems most of the germans wont group anyone who outs themselves by speaking english any more.

if you speak german you get groups but then you get abuse from the 10% english, at least until they're all on your /ignore list.

I really can't understand why the english-speakers can't be a little more tolerant. WTF are they afraid of? OMG SOMEONE SPOKE SOMETHING WHICH WASN'T ENGLISH BURN THEM QUICK!!! I mean... Why? Just why? Why not be a little tolerant? Why be abusive? Or why not at least just ignore them if you don't understand it... that's what non-english-speakers have to do all the time. It's this rigid intolerance I don't understand. Why be nasty when things would be so much better if you were nice instead?

Just another point, on the other side of the coin, how would the French react if a large amount of Brits went onto a French speaking server and started filling all the channels with English

?

I'd imagine they'd be rather unimpressed also

I think the real issue here is more that there's no definition of what the default language of the server is am I right?

Possibly.
There are 3 clients - English, German & French - so it's often difficult to communicate anyway because quest & item names are different in all 3 languages.

Nana thinks the default server language should be english, for the reasons you stated earlier, which are quite convincing.
Personally I couldn't give a monkeys if everyone spoke their mother-tongue, but the abuse from the english-speakers has got my back up now so I think they should make the default server language the language which the majority of the testers speak, which would be german in this case & show the rude abusive brits a stiff little finger.

It's not about tolerance it's about showing respect to others, thats why I don't talk Swedish when there are English people around.

Anyone can make a mistake, but if you keep talking you'r own language where English is the main one, well thats just being very disrespectful to others.

And if I can't handle a games or whatever language, well then I don't play there.

It's like if I would move to another country, then I would learn their Lanuage and customs etc, also I would expect people who move here to do so, if you don't, well then you will get a hard time, thats just how it is(Right or wrong).

gaah, why do I keep going, the spam devil have taken me it seems, ohwell I have said everything I want now, and also I really think what I said is so obvious that most would agree, but ohwell.

Look at it another way...
You walk into a room with 9 germans in there & only 1 speaks english. What language do you expect them to speak? Or should they all stop talking to each other because you entered the room? & would you start being abusive to 9 germans for talking german to each other? If so I can only recommend you get some very good medical insurance

Just because the main servers or whatever is German, dosent make the others so, and I would kick their puny little ar*es ;D

as I said before, I have really said everything I want, and I stand by everything I have said, also Im talking more generally, English should be what all games has as main language, and people just have to adapt, because knowing English is something that all needs neways tbh.

Also I don't kow where you get abuse from, seems like something you need to say all the time, I have never seen anyone be abusive to others, but if people can't respect the majoritys wish then they do deserve it, because you just can't have a whole bunch of different languages talked in a BG for example.

If I was to start talking Swedish, and even if they asked me to stop I would keep going, then they have all right to get angry with me.

But if I was to come to Sweden & stand in the middle of Stockholm & scream abuse at people for speaking Swedish would you then say it was disrespectful of all those swedish people in stockholm to carry on speaking swedish (assume for a moment they can't speak english), or would you say it was disrespectful of me for screaming abuse at people for speaking their mother-tongue in their own capital city?

Ofcourse, and it's the same thing as if you where to talk you'r main language on a Server that has English as main, if that language wasent you'r main ofcourse, you actually answered you'r own question really.

Also the other way around if I would go into a German Server and talk Swedish, it dosent matter, actually I don't know why I keep answering, because this is exactly what I said before.

No, ofcourse not, because they are the majority, and Im not sure I would care whatever they said neways.

But the majority of the people on the European servers are English speaking people, so you'r just saying that Im correct really, except for the German servers, but I wouldent play on those as I don't even know the language, and ofcourse the same goes there.

Also this was not my point atall, but that the English language is the laguage most people learn and speak, thats why I think that it should be very obvious that English is the language of choice for all games, and it is, becuase more or less all games I have played are in English, but some contries Convert everything, like Germany seems to do, still if the Majority of germans are very poor at English, well then I guess I can understand them.
