Why is it taking so long for the game to be released?

Seems like Warhammer is taking forever to be released. Is there a reason for this? It strikes me that be the time it is finally released it will be out of date and people will already have lost interest in it.

Just about every MMO released in the last 5 years has been delayed to some extent. WoW was originally due out shortly after DAoC's release but only turned up about 3 - 4 years later in the end, it's hardly as if people lost interest though.

I suspect part of the feeling of it taking so long is that people have been talking about it and even looking forward to it for ages. Wasn't the last release date actually moved forwards to spring 2008 ?

Seems quite a few of us are looking to the next thing after DAoC. Games like LotR or WoW have not grabbed us all in the same way. I just hope the thing lives up to all our hopes and expectations.

I think its because the game itself was in develovpment prior to Mythic getting the "contract" so people were aware of it then.

Also with Mythic giving out so much information on development, which I haven;t seen to such an extent before, it all adds to the "OMG just release it already" feeling.

I'm with 'nana on this one, Watched Pot Syndrome 4TL

Also, there are lots of people playing a game as a stop-gap till War is released, so the wait will seem longer anyway as you half play a game trying not to get attached too much since the whole world and his wife will be playing WAR

Bring it on imo, but it'll be worth the wait, i hope :¬)
