We now have "Virgin Media". ntl is no more.
But what we do have is a battle between two giants... Richard Branson and Rupert Murdoch. You may have noticed the adverts on cable TV, or even the posters by the side of the road, where Virgin Media and Sky are trying to outdo each other.

So who will win? Will the public choose Virgin Media or Sky? Do people like Branson or Murdoch more?

I hope Branson wins but I'd imagine Murdoch will win, when 90% of the battle is carried out via advertising in the media and Murdoch owns 99% of the media it's no contest.

I hope Branson wins too. If Virginmedia can't stop the Murdochs then we may as well hand them the other 1% of the media

Thing is though, Branson has the general public on his side. I always support Branson because I like his ethics, he likes to take on the big guys. I think maybe that people will go with Virgin Media just to spite Murdoch. Well, that's what I've done and I guess I'm just an average sort of guy.

Edit: Just look what David did to Goliath, for example.

Bear in mind that Virgin Cola was blown away by Coca Cola.

I wish you were right Gandelf but unfortunately Murdoch is just too weel established on this one. Branson is about 15 years too late. :<
