Good and Evil.

Edit: By "evil", I mean evil acts. E.g. some might think that deliberately killing another person is evil etc.

Nobody is evil imo. As I said in the other one that got deleted. Good and Evil is just something the church have use for to scare people imo.

I chose (3), but only because there was no option (4) Good & Evil are a question of power.

Even an "Other" option would have been better than nothing at all.

Good & Evil tend to change depending on who has power & who is writing history.

Many Brits were proud of Britains colonial history & think of it as something good, whereas most of us these days probably see it as something evil.

Most Americans probably see America as the last bastion of Good on the planet, whereas for me it is the epitomy of evil.

Even many Germans saw punishing the evil jews as a good thing at the time, whereas now we look on it as one of the most evil things in european history.

Discrimination is always "fun" & "good" if you're the one discriminating & "evil" for the one being discriminated against.

Everyone laughs nowadays at the period in US history where they discriminated against the evil Alcohol, yet we now do the same evil thing for almost identical reasons to evil smokers & soon evil car drivers - all a question of perspective.

Thou Shalt Not Kill!!!1!
& yet it's perfectly ok for good christians to join the army of righteousness & go & rape & kill the evil Iraqi civilians for no apparent reason whatsoever.

There is only right and wrong. Though many blurred boundaries.

If anything if god does exist it is probably his wrath which is Satan and his love as God ..

Funny thing is when a crazy murderer whatever kills loads of people they say they doing will of god. Religion and the people who follow has a lot to answer for.

So if some guy murders my wife or daughter, would it be wrong or evil of me to hunt the b*stard down & then torture him to death very very slowly & painfully?

According to my sense of right & wrong that would be perfectly ok, but according to societys norms all that would happen is he'd get free bed, board & food for the next 5-10 years maximum.

Doesn't that encourage evil?, & must therefore itself be evil?

That's called an eye for an eye. but evil begets evil surely.

Evil seems to be a viewpoint.

The cannibals on islands would consider it normal to kill and cook you.
Yet a amish peep finds TV and Sterio to be evil.

I think evil, TRUE evil is purely to want to see someone suffor for your own amusement. To want them purely not to succeed in life. To always want them to be miserable. And the other person has done nothing to you to deserve it.

i.e the senario oohhoo described, he would take certain satisfaction to see the murder/raper in pain but i mean a person who has done nothing.

So its not evil to think that way when that person actually has done something terrible towards you? And i'm not talking about stealing your marbles. But some terrible things?
