I would like to point out that this poll has a purely consultative nature as we can't expect Lairodd to have the time, energy or desire to pander to our every whim

If I'd voted with my heart I would have voted for the OLD pryd.net rating system because I really liked it. It gave the community a certain degree of power & responsibility & was IMO well representative of the communitys opinions, but as it seems that the mods are dead set against the old system I voted with my head instead & voted for OTHER. If not the old then something else just not the one we have now =/

me wrote:To be honest, best system is the one used on Freddyshouse:
-only able to rate posts positive
-after rating a person you have to rate other people to avoid PLing someone
-Each rating gives one point to the poster
-At a certain amount of points the poster is given different titles
-Rep farmers (who, for example put "give me rep!" in their post) get their rep points reset.
The way it's implemented on FH, it doesn't interfere with the posts and it can't be used for personal vendettas, but you can still let someone know you approve of their way of posting.

Well in theory a rating system is a bit like NeighbourhoodWatch - the community polices itself through peer-pressure - with the welcome addition of an element of fun
