maybe this is yet another thing on this Forum that is built to create controversy, but why have i got a -2.4 community rating?

Think about it what it means. I would not worry too much because it is a private thing as far as I can see only you can see your rating.
I guess its a way of seeing what people think of your posts - if you care that is.
I would not take too much of it to heart unless you care that is.

mods can see everyone's rating and as far as I know its gona be changed so nobody can see each others ratings.

OK
Just a thought on this ratings thing, would it be better to hide the way that others have already voted? ie not show a post with positive ratings as green and negative rating as red.
It seems like the system can be manipulated by persistantly following the trend based on the fact that you can see the way others have voted overall.
If this information was hidden people would have to rate the post based on their own decisions about it rather than go for automatically - rate for any red posts they see and + for any green.
Does this make sense or do my explanation skills need more training? Or have I misunderstood something about the way it works?

I dont like the post rating at all tbh. I dont mind if people don't agree with my posts from time to time , but the new rating system sucks big time.
Edit: Then again, some of you might enjoy the fact that I wont bother to post while we got this system.

tbh the rating thing is sposed to be something so peole can buy stuff for themselves.
but peeps going bonkers atm and making silly votes. Should calm down soon and we can whipe the ratings when that happens and start afresh or something
