What is wrong with UK police?????

My ex-brother in law was cought sunday night with 7kilo's of drugs in his truck when he was trying to get into England. He had his son with him. Him and his mother have joined custedy (sp) over Sybren.
Only this morning at 5am! they had Sybren call his mum to tell her what happened.

Why didnt they contact belgium ambassey? (sp) or Belgian police?

What is the penalty in UK for that drugs thing? Cos i really hope he'll go to prison for a very long time!

Penalty will vary strongly depending what it is, 7kg grass is not the same as 7kg heroin, tho either way it's hardly personal sue.

afaik you get a phone call, a lawyer and your nations consulate is notified...don't think the police are under any obligation to let belgian police or family know themselves. Then again I don't make a habit of getting banged up abroad.

No offence Satyn, You know I love you and respect you, but in this case the biggest question imo isnt why the police acted the way the did...the question is wtf was your brother doing with 7kg drugs? And as Maeloch said its proberbly just one phonecall (I think if he had been underage they would have contacted your parents too but as he drives a truck I doubt that is the case)

The boy is 10 years old and his father is a truck driver. They cought him sunday night with drugs dont know what type of drugs do know that it wasnt weed (or however you spell it). The thing that upsets me the most is that my godson was put in fostercare over in UK without letting his family know what was going on. His father did have one phonecall yes but the idiot used that to call his work.
Thand's sister is on her way to England now to go get her son, apparently the boy is in shock

I was just wondering if the the english government are harsh on ppl that take drugs accross the border.

Ah, thats something you didnt make clear in your first post. Imo drug smuggling is a crime which personally i concider quite big (yes yes, I know that alot of you guys in this forum wont agree but thats your opinion..just sharing my own).

Edit: Also, it sounds to me like the police isnt to blame as the idiot called his work instead of the lil guys mother.

So my guess is that his work was well aware about the smuggling. But i guess i'll never know the real truth.

Like others said depends what it was, If it is something like heroin then it could be took very very seriously trying to smuggle it in.

Police laws are changing very rapidly regarding drugs and the such.

Infact, in some counties, you can pocess low levels of drugs and not be arrested but just have the drugs confiscated.

It's all a question of the county your in and the regulations they have put in place for such a crime.

Personally i hope they beat the shit out of him real good and then doing it again for not calling Thands sis' to let her know she should get their son home.
