I must add as a side note that the Habanero is no longer the world's hottest Chili Pepper. Apparently, there is a Chili called the "Dorset Naga" (so called because it was cultivated near to Bournemouth in Dorset), which is now considered to be the hottest.
The unit of measurement for the intensity of Chili heat is the "Scoville". Normal red Chilis that you generally find on sale in supermarkets are rated at around 5,000 Scovilles. The Habanero is rated at around 500,000 Scovilles... however the Dorset Naga has been rated by at least two independent laboratories at around 900,000 Scovilles!! You can buy seeds on ebay... but the packets do come with a health warning!
