Ironically the IP you posted on from work is static.
But why is Satyn trying to "track" me? It's not like he is going to find anything informative from my IP.

? I can also make a good guess that you've now gone home from work seeing as you have switched to a consumer ISP. The fact that you've now changed to a home IP means a quick traceroute might also pinpoint your rough home location in the country you're in.
IPs can infact be somewhat dangerous than some might think, for most average home users it's neither here nor there, you're usually pretty safe because your IP generally is hidden, IRC is perhaps the biggest risk, at least on servers where your IP isn't masked by the server because anyone can get your IP there. Instant messanging programs that use some form of direction connection come second and I'd guess that forums do indeed come 3rd if you're visiting some unsavoury forum. As Banana said however, despite what you might think of the mods, none of us are immature enough to do anything mean or cruel with IP information. There is one exception here, where some nigerian scammer came here last weak trying to extort real life money from people, but in that case we're talking about real life criminals, fraudsters who deserve what's coming to them and I'd hope everyone agrees that in an extreme case like that where we received a visit from someone of a large criminal gang we did right in putting them in a position where they can suffer any possible bad consequence that can be incurred upon them whilst protecting our users by negating his attempts to scam here.
