lets all grab each others hands and sing 'We shall overcome' :)

and back to the subject:

No matter what people say and what laws they find to strengthen their words - I still belive its totally wrong to use shards. Legal or illigal.

Yes, I've not disagreed with that, again going back to my very original post I pointed out that it's immoral to use them even if it's legal.

that said
perhaps mythic can learn from it.
appt they got pvp servers purely from freeshards so appt theyre adapting them into the proper game mechanics.

Would be nice to have daoc as a single player game at times also.
Yknow - pve on your own and then join in online when you can do so.

Now thats something I don't agree on :( I actually wish there were more things that force players to cooperate. If I want singleplayer I play Elderscrolls series or Fallout :)

..but in the end - we can't all want the same thing from a game.

Yeah the game is solo enough atm.

So many stealthers and so hard to get a grp unless it is arranged in advance. Better to find ways of making grouping more interesting and more open for all sorts of classes.

This thread has left a very bad taste in my mouth with clearly some petty behind the scenes squabbles involving personal views on GOA, the role of the E&E and even the admin position. The thread has not been going anywhere for some posts now.

Time to let it die.

Many MMORPGs are suffering from that, DDO even release a patch of "solo content" to attract people :o

I think grouping needs to be made easier. The way things are at the moment you spend time looking for a group for a specific task, when you have enough you go and perform that task, possibly with a number of breaks in rder to fill up spots that become vacant.

This can then be made worse by "needing" a Tank, a healer etc.

What would help (IMO) would be if there were some instance tasks that you just went to do. You don't lfg first you just say I'm going to do task x. The instance then puts you in a group of other people already doing it. You don't spend time lfg, they haven't already been losing patience trying to find a member for the last 10 minutes etc.

It would need instances that change difficulty depending on the people in the instance, not just number and level of characters, but also taking into account classes. The reward for the task should be the same for whatever the group is too.

I know that is vague, and what is there is very hard to achieve. But that's the way to improve grouping in MMORPGs imo :)
