A church that covers that up is at fault by their own rules. The rules of Christianity as taught by Jesus in the New Testament I think clearly state that doing harm to children is not acceptable. Any church that allows harm to children is not following those rules. The guild master should throw this church out of the guild.

This raises the question of how many of the churches and people who describe themselves as Christian would be accepted as that by Jesus.

But how many non-religious people have abused children? Again, it's pointing the finger at religion. When it does happen and a religious person is involved, it makes headline news. How many cases of non-religious child abuse go unnoticed?

Linking this with the other thread about the existence of God, if non-believers (like Xest) say that the evidence of the Laws of Physics prove that God doesn't exist, and let's suppose that's true, then all the evil in the world is directly attributable to evolution. So, if you claim that religion is to blame, then you must believe in God, otherwise you must believe that it's evolution (and consequently non-believers) that's to blame.

On the silly side, I offer the Evil Atheist conspiracy

On the serious side, yes there are but I'm trying not to discuss my mother

i think the reason why so many people get annoyed when a religious person does that is because they teach one thing yet do another. its hypocritcical of them
If a non-believe did that then its bad but as they dont tell others its wrong to do it or put others down for doing it then theyre not being hypocritical.

no i see where he is going.

but not sure if its right

either you believe in a or b
god and consiquence or evoloution

if you belive in a (god and consiquence) then all the bad evil things that happen in the world have a design and purpose and there is a reason for everything even if we dont know it.

if you believe in b (evoloution) then all the bad evil things that happen in the world happen because we're scumbags ^^

How about this as a non religious (since he abolished religion) baddy. Wiping out 20% of your population is pretty impressive.

Pol Pot and his army, called the Khmer Rouge, came to power in Cambodia (Kampuchea) in 1975. He was named prime minister of the new communist government in 1976 and began a program of violent reform. The Khmer Rouge abolished currency, religion and private property and evacuated cities in the hopes of creating a Maoist agrarian society free of Western influence (though, like Mao, Pol Pot had studied the works of V. I. Lenin and Karl Marx in Europe). Under his regime, forced labor, executions and famine killed between 1.5 and 2 million Cambodians (more than 20% of the population).
