The more I think about it, if they remove hell, punishment and demands from christianity everyone would be happy :)

Isnt it also said that anyone who asks God forgivness will get it? So I can live my life any way I want and when I die I ask for forgivness and can enter heaven?

I do know what he mean - I kind of told you so in the other post and Im pretty sure I can understand it just aswell as you do. According to You and Him you need to be what you concider to be a reborn to be a true christian.
I dont know what gandelf thinks (and im not going to spend my lunch reading this thread to remember it - i have wuthering heights to read!) however my oppinion is to be a christian you just NEED to do what Jesus preached.
He said naff all about giving cash to the church or anything.
He mentioned the bread wine but he certainly didnt want people to become divided as to weather it should be one cup or many cups..bread or wafers...
He just said to follow him and to do as he did.

Christian - the very basics (perhaps someone could give us the full translation) means follower of christ.

Being 'born again' like i have said already, is a coined phrase used nowadays to distinguish people from people who became christians to have standing in the community.
However EVERY person who follows Jesus IS Born again as thats what he said to do..
You don't seem to get this point. If I don't belive in jesus or if I submit myself as much as Gandelf or You do - according to both of you (i guess) Im not a true christian. Who are you to say who is and who is not a christian? There are loads of various subgroup of christianity who have various views on how a christian should behave and act. If you ask these people, Im sure they will be just as convinced as you are about the "right way" of a christian.

/Ankh
thing is - i dont care about sub groups or any of that crap.
My church split because of sub-groups so I really dont want to chat about those.

Like i said before (in the post i deleted - maybe i should just undelete it :P) i believe in God 100%
Im 50-50 with Jesus
Im almost minus % with the church at large and 20% believe the bible (alot is missed out and its winding me up)

wether the bible is true or not, wether the hindu faith is true and christian is not - moslem or sun worshippers - i really dont care.

All i know is i believe in God.

meh just posting in this thread is confusing me atm also :)
I actually started posting again cuz it seemed like gandelf was being ganged up on ;)

Thanks for your reply banana, it didnt really bring much new stuff - but its atleast how you see on it all. Im glad you came back to stand up for christianity along with Gandelf and Sharkith. Makes the thread so much more fun to read/post if there are more than just 1 person defending (or what ever you wish to call it).

That was a great post Kallima a really neat summary of how we can liberally interpret the issues. :)

Gandelf I have a question for you now and this I am deeply interested in. I understand that there are schools of thinking in religion that insist on a literal interpretation of the bible. I am also aware that some schools of thinking insist that God can guide us through the medium of the bible in our day to day lives.

Do you come from this particular part of christianity? How do you see what I am asking above?

Thats why I put the "(or what ever you wish to call it)" part into my text. This thread isnt about defending or anything. Its purely a discussion between people thinking different (hehe wouldnt be much of a different else :P)

But I still ponder over Tuths amazing tought.

If God can do anything, can he do a stone thats so heavy he cant lift it? If not he's not "allmighty". And if he can, he cant lift it afterwards so he cant be "allmighty"!

Anyone care to expand on this? 8-)
