To be fair, not all of them are stupid. We have a Jehova's witness here at work, they're often the most joked about bunch really, but he's one of the more intelligent religious people I've ever met and puts people like Gandelf to shame over their beliefs. He realises the complete idiocy in a young earth creation theory and honestly the only question as to where our view differs is in what originally created the universe as a whole - everything since then pretty much (bar the odd religious tale/miracle) he accepts the scientific argument for such as evolution etc. of course he has a differing view about over things, i.e. he thinks homosexuality is wrong but that just gives me something to bitch at him for being short-sighted discriminatory ass aboutLieva wrote:actually youd be surprised.
most of the church in rome refuses to believe in miricles.
which is odd :/

There is room for much of scientific theory in the religious arena, those who refuse science outright ironically seem to be the ones rather insecure in their beliefs - probably because they don't want to think that everything their life has been based around is wrong even though deep down they're questioning whether that's the case. There's certainly room for science alongside sensible religious beliefs but things like the above weeping Mary statues from the Philippines just muddies the waters for those entirely unsure about their faith.
