the egg definately came first. A (whatever it was that evolved into a chicken - a t-rex i guess) didnt suddenly change into a chicken. She would have to have given birth to an egg which held the chicken embryo's. I guess the youngster came out looking a little bit differently, gave birth to another egg which in turn turned out looking a little different from its predecessor, and so on and so forth.

The answer is probably neither and both . There is no clear defining line between chicken and chicken precursor. This line is considerably larger than a single generation of a chicken.

Folklore is that this question has no answer. If one would answers chicken, then the reply is: but what did the chicken came from?. An egg, of course, so but when one answers egg to the question, then the reply is: but who made the egg? Well, a chicken, but then, where did that chicken came from? So, indeed, it seems this question has no answer. So, is this `chicken-or-egg' question really unanswerable - a paradoxal question?

hydrocarbon molecules in the water formed a ring as oil does water repellant side on the inside and so on, in the centre of the globule of hydrocarbons a complex mixture of chemicals became trapped, these chemicals slowly "digested" the hydrocarbons until there was only an outer layer and a mix of very basic chemicals on the inside this is how we belive the first bacterium were formed. Of course its entirly possible that somthing else occurd however atm that is what bio chemists believe.
