I used the word be-yatches in my sig and was asked to change it. It was a joke.

Xest's comment should have been warned or changed. Simple as that. FFS Xest warned me for telling gandalf to shut up. Jeez!

technically using the word be-yatches insted of *****es bypasses the censor filter and ..

But that's just it, Tare, I don't think Loth's use of it was particularly offensive. It's crystal clear from context that his use of "mod-nazi" was intended to convey a sense of over-zealous rule enforcement. Surely noone can claim he meant something to do with the Holocaust?

I agree that Loth's use is marginally more offensive, but I would probably feel differently if I was a homsexual and my sexual orientation was being bandied about as an insult.

I reckon the reason he got treated so bad was because he was criticising the moderation, not because his term was particularly offensive. It was mildly offensive, but not more than that.

Bollocks! How do all the people on the forums know you are good friends with the other person. If you are allowed to say that to someone, everyone should be allowed to use the word "Homosexual" in a joking / none joking way. Therefore insulting Homosexuals.
