True, but even though flaming sometimes can be well deserved it usually turn into namecalling and abit too harsh language concidering its a game we're playing.. but thats just how I feel about this.

Ok, one last post..... bad news, it's mostly a Flame.....

Firstly, a big thanks to the mod's and members that have tried to keep this forum an intelligent, informative and entertaining site.

Secondly, a huge thanks to Hibernias great raid leaders who have continued to stand behind and motivate this community regardless of changing attitudes and diminishing population... keep up the good work!

However....

I feel this forum has descended into something that is beginning to reflect the same level of whine and un-intelligent correspondence as Freddy's House.

I am deeply annoyed that I bothered to contribute funding to what has turned out to be mostly pointless drivel.

What was once an intelligent and mature forum for the open relay of ideas, information and discussion has, on the whole, been replaced by a publicity board for attention whores, thread hijackers, witch-hunters and juvenile opinion.

Hehehe/lol is NOT a valid or intelligent opinion.

"Smilies" are NOT are replacement for an educated point of view.

There is no need to repeatedly respond to a post just because your friend did unless you have something valid or humorous to contribute... private jokes unconnected to the thread are best left to private messages imo.

Witch-hunts are not the work of reasoned and objective individuals.

Thread hijacking is inconsiderate and ignorant, thread hijacking for the purpose of attention seeking is pathetic... GET A LIFE!!!!


The mods here do a great job moving, locking, or splitting threads as warranted, but for gods sake make their life easier by THINKING before you hit the post/reply button.

The great community of prydwen is still there. If you would bother to log into daoc you would see it. There have always been dickheads around on daoc and there will always be dickheads. I thought you was one and you thought i was something else prolly the attention seeking whore you was on about.
If ppl are happy to put a smilie up as an answer then let them be, if they want to lower themselves and flame then let them be. Everyone is free to speak their mind. And if you dont like it then stay the hell away from these boards then then you wont get annoyed by it.

Like Quin and Pikeh, i come on these boards to have a laugh ... mostly in the rl pic section that nana was to kind to put up and in the spam section.
If you dont like it then dont go there. If you want to go there then dont moan about the unintresting chatter.

I have some sympathy with Gitt's point of view about some of the threads being hijacked and also becoming a little to personal in terms of attacks and flames. Equally, as Pikeh says, I can see that people come here for a balance between information (ml's RvR etc) and to share a point of view or just have some fun.

I guess, as in all things, there is a balance and we all draw the line in a slightly different location.

Someone recently posted a template asking for suggestions on improvements. Some peeps posted sensibly suggesting areas for improvement and one posted words to the effect of this is crap - why bother with it. So potentially we manage to make someone asking for help feel inadequate and embarrassed - not hib like imo and not funny either.

Equally a thread entitled manners got hijacked into a discussion on adding - it was related in a way, but was worth a read and also the time posting as it explored several points of view. Some of it got heated but as a difficult subject to cover in a written post that was not to be unexpected. In this case it was good to see some passion.

Then we have the pictures section - pure fun- nothing else intended or needed and if peeps want to have innocent fun which is largely directed at themselves or done in good humour then I see nothing wrong in that.

So we see goods and bads - I think we still see more goods than bads and all it takes to improve is a little thought before we hit the send key.

There was a post about 4fins lately and there was not a single flame in it, you really can't be serious about things being worse!

I mean really, there were like 30-page flames about fins4 at some point and every second thread was about it. Let's also remember how the forum looked when the first gg's arrived on hib/prydwen, i really won't forget some posts. I wondr if there's a way to find those posts again, they were quite hilarious. Or the 1 gazillion 'why isn't my nightshade getting 4fins group' threads.
