hmmm
so almost everyone's for smell?
but...
imagine never again smelling the smell of the ocean
or a rose
or a fine meal
or a lovers sweat
Sacrifice a sense!
To be honest there isn't a single sense that isn't designed to aid with survival, because that's just how we've evolved. Some examples:
- Hearing is obvious, if we here someone/something coming up behind us we can react
- Sight again is rather obvious, if we see something dangerous we react
- Smell is important but probably slightly less so, you want to be able to smell if something is burning so you can get out the way of a potentially raging fire for example
- Taste helps us avoid eating things that could potentially make us ill, how many times have you thrown something away because it's gone off and the only way you knew how was by taste?
- Touch helps us avoid injuring ourselves without knowing, without touch you wouldn't know your hand was melting away when you put it on something boiling hot, you'd just keep it there only to completely destroy your hand.
For me it would probably be taste though, then I'd be more careful about what I ate Hell, I might even eat brussel sprouts without that annoying sense

still for that stuff you coulf keep a canary for gas leaks. and fill your house with smoke detectors for fires.
Taste you need.
you can tell if someone spiked your drink
(or well I can - even with the non-tasting-drinks such as vodka or bacardi)

Nope.
I'm keeping my nose.
but the longer I think about it the more I realise how much I wouldn't miss my hearing - no more banging head onto wall due to involuntarily listening to a conversation between people with more fingers than braincells. No more getting woken up by barking dogs, crying kids, doorbells, alarm clocks, church bells, car horns. No more mobile phones or any other phones come to that! Permanent peace & quiet. Heaven!

Oh no, Xest used the "E" word again... looks like I'll have to get my Bible out again and do some Xest bashing with it!
There's one sense that Xest's already lost anyway... the "common" variety!
(only joking)
