i actually liked the 2nd and 3rd one but like star wars.. the sequals didnt need to be made :p

matrix and star wars were pure stand alone films.
return of the jedi, empire strikes back, and matrix 2+3 were all connected.

along the same vein as back to the future.
you could guess an ending but didnt really need another film :)

I thought there was only 1
What are they called?
Matrix
Son of Matrix
Return of the Son of Matrix
next comes Son of Matrix strikes again!?
8-)
The Matrix (1)
The Matrix:Reloaded (2)
The Matrix:Revoloutions (3)

No chance for a matrix 4.
The storyline disapointed alot of people in 3 plus they kinda well made it not likely to continue.

Unless 2+3 were in a shower ..

I don't agree.. Matrix 1 rocked, the other two are among my top 10 worst movies.

Which films over the last 2 years or so have been better? I'm not saying there haven't been some good films, things like Lord of War were good, but they're few and far between.

Imo most movies have been better, matrix 2 and 2 are totally worthless movies. The second one was so bad I was concidering to leave the cinema.
But to pick a few - 300, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning, Blood Diamond, Letters From Iwo Jima, Children Of Men, Talladega Nights, Danny The Dog, 16 Blocks, Superman Returns, Apocalypto, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, Pan's Labyrinth, Lucky Number Slevin etc etc

Would you call half those films amazing or just mediocre though? Things like 16 blocks, Superman, Slevin etc. were just mediocre imo - watchable but not something I'd pay to see.

I suppose it's largely down to personal preference, but tbh Pirates of the Carribean Dead Man's chest was as much of a crap followup as Matrix 2 if not more so imo.

I call them pretty good movies - and I don't agree with you on Pirates. Matrix 2/Matrix 3 are (imo) among the top 10 worst movies - but as you said, its pretty much a matter of personal taste.

I havn't seen a film since Silence of the Lambs (1) which I considered worth wasting the time to watch.
