What are you guys reading?
Currently on the second volume of the Bartimaeus trilogy. Similar type of audience to the Harry Potters in that they are geared towards the younger reader whilst still be perfectly acceptable to those of us who a little older (if not necessarily mature).
Story revolves around Bartimaeus, a summoned entity who prefers the description djinn to demon, and his summoner the young Nathaniel. Based primarily in a parallel world in which leading politicans are magicians and set, for the most part, in London. It has dabbled a little with history so that the first great empire was formerly centred in Prague before their overthrow by the British led by William Gladstone who in this particular reality was a powerful demonologist.
Trilogy runs: The Amulet Of Samarkand, The Golem's Eye and Ptolemy's Gate.
Enjoying it so far, rather more so than the various Dan Brown's which I've also read recently and now put to the side. Incidentally I think Angels and Demons was the best of his books in my opinion

To get back on topic and in a futile attempt to stop this useless bickering (did show me never to use humour in a thread here because most people are unfamiliar with the concept it seems); if you like fantasy try reading Feist; he has a few saga's that are really good. Other than that I recommend Terry Goodkind as well with his "Sword of Truth" saga. I believe someone here mentioned "A game of thrones" of George RR Martin as well and that is another excuisite saga.
